⭐Kindness Cart⭐ In the Spring of 2024, Fairfield Community High School launched a pilot program for high school students on the STEP work program for an on campus job. On a daily basis, students follow a schedule and push the Kindness Cart filled with free items around the school building to benefit both teachers and students. The students take the Kindness Cart to different classrooms on various days of the week, as well as, making stops at offices. The student workers are responsible for ordering and stocking the items needed for the carts, and reading and responding to messages left in the comments. The student cart is filled with snacks, school supplies, and motivational stickers. The teacher's cart has pens, air fresheners, scissors, expos markers, sticky notes, and some mints. The idea for these carts came from the transition staff who works with students as they transition from high school into the real world. This STEP placement gives students the opportunity to follow a daily work schedule that changes each day. Our students and staff enjoy the cart, and our STEP students have learned a lot of life lessons by having the opportunity to work through this program.
