Our ceramics students have been busy learning and experimenting with clay, and their shelves are filling up with amazing work!
So far, they’ve created:
• Pinch Pots 🥣 – the first step in shaping clay with just their hands.
• Clay Tiles with Texture 🎨 – carving, stamping, and pressing designs to turn flat clay into art.
• Exposed Coil Pots 🌀 – vessels built layer by layer, showing off patterns and form.
And… we’ve even welcomed a classroom Kiln Goblin 🧙♂️🔥—a mischievous little clay guardian to keep watch over our projects while they fire!
From bowls to tiles to creatures, students are building skills in craftsmanship, patience, and creativity. Can’t wait to see these pieces glazed and finished! 🌟
Our Crafts students are going bold and imaginative with their latest project—larger-than-life masks! Using papier-mâché and mixed media, they’re designing oversized faces that are dramatic, colorful, and full of personality.
This project challenges students to think outside the box, work with scale, and explore creative self-expression in 3D form. We can’t wait to see these masks come to life and maybe even make an appearance in the hallways before Halloween! 👀🎃
Our Life Skills students have been planning their dream destinations—and now they’re bringing those ideas to life in 3D! Each student chose a place they’d love to travel one day and created a shoebox diorama to showcase their vision.
From beaches to mountains, landmarks to cityscapes, the shoeboxes are filled with imagination, research, and creativity. This project helps students dream big while also practicing planning, design, and presentation skills.
Mrs. Hurd is very proud of their hard work—these little “worlds in a box” turned out amazing! 🌟
