📚🏛️ Exciting day at the Capitol!
Our students, Anne Kelly and Grady Simpson, had an amazing experience at Senator Terri Bryant's Youth Advisory Council in Springfield on March 19th. Here are some highlights:
✅ Toured the impressive Senate Floor
✅ Learned about Senate operations and history
✅ Participated in mock bill discussions and committee hearings
✅ Met with a real lobbyist
✅ Observed a busy session day at the Capitol
It was great to see our young leaders in action! They gained valuable skills and insights into how our government works.
A big thank you to Senator Terri Bryant for providing this fantastic opportunity to our students!

Hunter Kirk received a thank you card and some Goody hair products made especially for female athletes. The package arrived several weeks after writing a professional business letter to the popular brand in Mrs. Kiefer’s dual credit Composition and Analysis course. The letters, professionally typed, folded, and addressed, provided a real world writing experience mailed to locations in Fairfield as well as charities, departments, and foundations all across the nation. Along with free samples and handwritten responses, students have also received letters in response to job shadow inquiries, internships, and have even noticed their letters of gratitude tacked up on the walls of local businesses. Hunter and Mrs. Kiefer were both happy to take a short break from researching and writing essays to celebrate this rewarding moment!

Students from Computer Technology, Introduction to Computer Science, and Game Design presented some of their classwork and projects to the school board this evening. Mason Hill, Jacob Maguire, RJ Jackson, and Nora Oliver did a fantastic job showing off their hard work!
