IECC is hosting a Dual Credit Orientation. They are offering face-to-face options across IECC campuses and two virtual sessions for those who cannot attend in person. Valuable information will be presented which is applicable to any Dual Credit student. Specific information and instructions will be shared in preparation for the 2025-2026 academic year. Students who will be taking classes on campus, and/or online Dual Credit classes are strongly encouraged to attend.

Attention Wrestling Fans: FCHS will be placing their old wrestling mats up for bid. These are the 3-section mats from the early 2000s and will be sold as is. FCHS will be taking sealed bids starting Wednesday, July 9th. Bids will be taken until 4pm on July 17th. All bids must have the name of the person wishing to purchase, phone number, and amount placed in a sealed envelope. All bids need to be turned into the district office. School hours are Monday-Thursday, 7 am-4 pm. The winning bid will be responsible for moving the mats from the high school.

It has been many years since FCHS has provided this, so we are asking for your help! We would like any parent/guardian who lives within city limits and might be interested in having their student ride the bus to contact our guidance department. We are trying to get an early indication of the number of students we can serve and where they are located for routing purposes. Yesterday, Addie Lafikes and Allsion Breuer went to SIUE to present their Invent2Prevent podcast. Invent2Prevent is a grant funded program through The United States Department of Homeland Security. Our team was given 7 minutes to present their project, which is a podcast titled "Peace by Piece" that discusses ways to prevent violence in school through conflict resolution, and 10 minutes to answer questions from a panel. Our team earned 3rd place in the contest along with $1,000 to help continue to fund projects at our school to prevent violence. The Invent2Prevent team consists of the following team members: Alex Basnett, Ella Gonzalez, Emeri Sager, Grant Otey, Ashton King, Ellanie Vanway, Addie Lafikes, and Allsion Breuer. FCHS students from Invent2Prevent launched their first podcast this week. Students in Invent2Prevent were tasked with coming up with an idea to plan and implement a method to prevent violence and hate in schools. The group of 8 FCHS students chose to make a podcast talking about conflict resolution. Addie Lafikes, Allison Breuer, and Ellanie Vanway made the first podcast with special guest Mrs. Becky August.
