GPA

The FCHS Board of Education recently approved a change to the weighted grade point average system. The previous system was extremely antiquated and included additives for taking weighted or honors classes. Input was gathered from former students, parents, teachers, and community members. Many colleges and scholarship committees struggled to understand the old GPA of our students. The new system simplifies the weighted grade point average for students awarding the following points for non-weighted classes; A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1 and F=0. To figure a non weighted GPA, the total grade points are then divided by the number of units or classes taken. For weighted classes; A=5, B=4, C=3, D=1 and F=0. This new policy will start with the current freshmen class. For any questions regarding the policy change, please feel free to reach out to the FCHS Guidance Office.
