About Guidance

Statement to Student

The FCHS Guidance Staff is here to help each and every one of you. Our primary goal is to support and enhance your achievements and accomplishments. We are here to help guide you through the many transitions which you will encounter throughout your high school career. We hope to prepare you with the skills and attitudes which will give you success as you set out on your life endeavor.

Guidance Counselor

The Guidance Counselor helps students with academic success ensuring the proper placement in classes. She helps students with career exploration as well as administers necessary college entrance exams. She gives other tests throughout the school year such as PSAT, Consumer Education Proficiency and AP. She provides information about colleges and other post-secondary opportunities. In addition, the counselor consults with students, parents and teachers to identify student issues, needs and problems.

School Social Worker

The School Social Worker helps students achieve maximum benefit from their educational opportunities. She helps them understand themselves and others and improve their interpersonal relationships. In addition, the SSW helps students learn to cope with stress and develop healthy decision making skills. She provides individual and group counseling and works with parents to help them to understand and meet their children’s social and emotional needs.

Registrar

The Registrar maintains academic records of current and former students. She enrolls new students and exits outgoing students. In addition, she forwards transcripts to colleges, perspective employers, and various other agencies requiring such information. She maintains Parent Connect access, posts college scholarships and assists with numerous guidance activities.
