Attention all Reflector Staff members: There will be a meeting tonight(Thurs.), at
6:00 P.M., in the learning center. If
you are unable to attend, please let Mr. Musgrave know.
FCA will meet tomorrow morning(Fri.) at 7:45 A.M. in Mr.
McElravy’s room. Everyone is welcome!
Students, faculty, and staff: Don’t forget about the After Prom Talent Show tomorrow night(Fri.) at 7:00 p.m. in the
east gym. The winners of the $350 First
Prize and the $150 Second Prize will be selected by audience vote, so come out
tomorrow night and vote for your favorite performer. Admission is $3.00, and proceeds will go to
support After Prom.
The FCHS Student
Council is organizing a benefit for
the Coleman family. On Friday, March
28, there will be a Game-A-Palooza
in the east gymnasium. From 8-11 P.M.,
there will be a variety of games and competitions for both individuals and teams.
Please sign up in the office if
you want to participate in the air band and lip sync contest. For a $10 donation, FCHS students can enjoy
games and refreshments. If a club or
organization would like to help, please contact Brandon Lee, Kyla Basnett, or
Katelyn Baker.
Spring Blood Drive: The
FCHS Student Council is holding the spring Red Cross-sponsored blood drive on Thursday, March 27,
from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the girls’ gym.
Any FCHS student who is 17 years of age or older is eligible to be a
blood donor. Did you realize that every
pint of blood that is donated helps three different people? Your pint of blood is divided into red cells,
platelets, and plasma. Any of the three
parts of your pint of blood could save a life!
Did you know that young people or children that require blood
transfusions must get blood from young people such as you? Your blood is very important . . . so please
sign up now in Room 102 or with any Student Council member.
Applications for
lifeguard positions at the Fairfield
Park pool are now
available in the office. Please pick up
an application if you are interested.
You may give the completed form to Mrs. Monge or take the form to Jay
Fyie’s law office.
COLLEGE
INFORMATION - SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS:
Guidance has received the applications for the Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship
Program. Ten $2500.00 scholarships
are awarded annually to Illinois
high school seniors who plan to pursue a college degree and career in
agriculture or an agriculture-related field.
Applicants must be a high school senior with a 2.75 GPA in 2007-08, be a
resident of Illinois, be accepted at an
accredited higher education institution in Illinois, and be pursuing an agriculture or
agriculture-related major. See Guidance
for an application. The deadline to
apply is on or before May 15, 2008.
The Wayne County
Memorial VFW Post 4535 is offering $1000.00 scholarships to graduating
seniors from each of the three Wayne
County high schools. Resumes should include information about
yourself and your family, your school career, your college and career plans,
veterans in your family, and financial need.

The deadline to apply is April 24, 2008.
The Army National
Guard will be here during 4th and 5th hour lunches on
Tuesday, March 18. Interested students
should plan to go to the cafeteria on this date – no passes will be issued.
The University of
Southern Indiana(USI) will be hosting a Student Information Night on
Tuesday, March 18, at the Windsor Oaks Best Western Inn at Grayville, from
7-8:30 P.M. This is an opportunity to
learn about scholarships for Illinois
residents, financial aid, housing and much more.
Guidance has received information concerning the Balanced Man Scholarship for the University of Illinois. This scholarship is being offered to the
incoming male students who have excelled in the areas of scholarship,
leadership, athletics and community service during their high school
career. To qualify, you must be a
full-time student at the University
of Illinois during the
fall of 2008 and have the application postmarked by Friday, April 25, 2008. See Guidance for further information.
Guidance has received the application for the Wayne County
4-H Foundation College Scholarship. Applicant must be an active 4-H member the
year of application, and must be a member in good standing the two years prior
to application. See Guidance for an
application and further details. The
deadline to apply is Friday, April 11, 2008.
